More Additional Notes for Seventh-day Adventists (Very helpful for everyone else too!)

Response # 5 1 John 3:3

"Purifieth himself even as he is pure;"

"Not that any man can purify or cleanse himself from sin, this is only owing to the grace of God and blood of Christ; nor that any man can be so pure and holy as Christ is, who is free from all sin, both original and actual; but this must be understood either of a man that has faith and hope in Christ, dealing by these with the blood of Christ for purity and cleansing, with whom and which these graces are conversant for such purposes; or of such a person's imitating of Christ in the holiness of his life and conversation, making him his pattern and example, studying to walk as he walked; to which he is the more excited and stimulated by the hope he has of being a Son of God, a dear child of his, and therefore ought to be a follower of him, and walk as Christ walked, in humility; love, patience, and in other acts of holiness." Adam Clarke's Commentary.

And such were some of you: but YE ARE WASHED, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Revelation 1:5

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 7:14

Brothers and sisters in the Adventist church: for Ellen White the blotting out of sin (washing them away) did not begin until 1844. Under her gospel your own sins have yet to be washed away after your own works of righteousness are measured, when your own names comes up for review during her "investigative judgment" theory. But for me, and the rest of Christianity, our sins have already been washed away, by the blood of the Lamb.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:5-7

Are we sanctifed now? Ellen NO! Bible YES!
Are our sins washed away already? Ellen NO! Bible YES!
Do we have the seal of God now? Ellen NO! Bible YES!
Are we saved right now? Ellen NO! Bible YES!
Have we already reeived the atonement? Ellen NO! Bible YES!

Are we justified by obedience to the law? Ellen YES! Bible NO!
Will we become incorruptible BEFORE being translated? Ellen YES! Bible NO!

Brothers and sisters in the Adventist church: there are a great many things that "sound very Christian" in the writings of Ellen White, such as Acts of the Apostles p. 560. which in fact actually contradicts the Bible. It does not matter how religious something sounds, if it goes against scripture it is in fact "another gospel." I know your instincts are to hang on to her with all your life right now. What I am praying is that you will love the word of God (the Bible) more than Ellen White. Test these things out by the word of God (the Bible) look up all these verses in your own Bible.
